HI all sorry bout the not very discript title, I hope it get ssome interest at any rate. I am researching indipendent living/rehabilitation centres in the USA UK Canada and anywhere else really that people think might be good. I want personal experiences as well as names of places and ewbsites of possible. it is for a research project I am conducting as we don't have any such places here in austrlia and I think we need one! I watn to travel around and look at how a few of them work next year and am conducting my research now. so schools for the blind, colleges for the blind, rehab places thoughs cool centres you have over thee in the US that teach you skills for a few months. List them all here with your comments. THanks everyone.
Wow, sounds like you're trying to tackle an awfully big project here. And your writing could definitely use some work. but, here's some information, if it helps.
First, most states in the US have their own government funded rehab Centers, usually run by the state agencies for the blind. Some states also have privately run rehab Centers. Examples of these include the three Centers run by the National Federation of the Blind: one is in Louisiana, one in Colorado, and one in Minnesota. I think places like the Carol Center in Massachusetts might also be privately operated.
